The OC blog - The Our Cockatiels Blog

Cockatiels make a wonderful hobby and wonderful pets! For those who want to handle their birds often, we suggest hand-tamed Cockatiels. Please research through reading, the internet, and asking questions of pet shop clerks before purchasing a Cockatiel. The more you know and understand about these wonderful birds the better relationship you and your Cockatiel will have with each other. If you click on our photos; you will have a super close-up.

Join "The OC Club - Our Cockatiels Club"

As we sell some of our babies; more will be available soon. However due to the demand for our young Cockatiels, the expenses and time involved, we will be raising the prices on our hand-fed, hand-tamed Cockatiels.

Our gray Cockatiels are now priced at $50. Others will be higher. In consideration of this we have started a club
(that on our Tiels priced $50 or more) , we offer a discount. This is for any person who joins (or subscribes to) our Yahoo group
"The OC Club - Our Cockatiels Club."

If you live too far to purchase a Cockatiel from us or already own your limit of Cockatiels; still free to join as we are looking for this Club group to also be a place of sharing information on birds, especially Cockatiels and Parakeets.

For more details please visit
"The OC Club".

Of the 2 above hand-tamed Cockatiels,
we still have the lighter one available plus some younger Cockatiels are also weaned and available. The darker grey of the 2 above Cockatiels has been sold. The lighter one, is actually a cinnamon/light grey or cinnamon/silver.
We recently realized that the colors on the second bird is worth more then a typical gray cockatiel so we decided to keep it unless we get a really good offer .... like $75.

3 more gray Cockatiels at $50 each are available
for a little while longer
(from today's date; 8-24-08).
For members of
"The OC Club - Our Cockatiels Club"
with $10 discount that would come out
to the bargian price of $40!

More hand-tamed chicks after that;
will be available every so often.

So even as we sell some of our babies;
more will be available; soon after.

By the way $50 each (before discount) for hand-tamed regular Gray Cockatiels is still a good deal. When we started out we were charging that much for our Cockatiels that were not hand-tamed and we were charging $125 each for any and all of our hand-tamed Cockatiels.
It is very rare to find a hand-tamed young regular gray Cockatiels as low as $50 each so we feel we are still offering you a great value that might even make it worth traveling some distance to our house (here, in Auburn,Maine) to purchase your Tiel.

Handtamed Cockatiels for sale = $40

We still have the above lighter hand-tamed Cockatiel available. The lighter one, is actually a cinnamon/light grey or cinnamon/silver.
Either color combination is worth more then a typical grey cockatiel so we decided to keep it unless we get a really good offer .... like $75.

More hand-tamed chicks will be available soon.
So even as we sell some of our babies; more will be available.

All 3 of these are sold.
The last 2 white-faces were sold on 7-21-2008.

Currently no more white-face Cockatiels are available.

Also, we would be willing to trade one of our handfed Cockatiels for 2 parakeets.
If it is an albino, or ALL white or ALL yellow parakeet, then we would be willing to trade one of our handfed Cockatiels for that special Parakeet. It would be your choice of certain of our handtamed Cockatiels.

We are keeping all of our white, yellow
and Albino Cockatiels for breeding.

We no longer have any $15 older birds available.
The 4 mature birds that we have left of our original group of older Cockatiels, we are also keeping for breeders.

UPDATE on The Odd Couple

Bully-boy (the Cockatiel) & Candy (the Parakeet)

The Odd Couple are no longer for sale as a pair.
We purchased another parakeet (a white albino Rosemary named Fluffy) for Candy and gave Bully-boy a mate from our stock of Cockatiels.

Bully-boy is fine with females.
Both pairs have their own honey-moon suites.
(Their own cages.)
Since then we found a buyer for Bully-boy and his potential mate.
This man knew enough about Cockatiels that I am confident he will have no problems or very few with Bully-Boy.

My wife, Rosemary wants to keep the parakeets.
If we had sold this odd couple, we would have purchased 2 new parakeets with the money.
Now we have a pair and Rosemary is talking about acquiring more parakeets in the future. Parakeets talk less clear but they do take up less space since you can fit more in one decent size cage.
